49 rooms, conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Kachina and Thunderbird are twin contemporary lodges. They are called lodges, but the buildings and guest rooms are more like that in a typical motel. All of the rooms are ideally suited for families.
Located on the Grand Canyon South Rim, half of the rooms at the Kachina and Thunderbird Lodges have partial canyon views.
Guest rooms have two queen beds or one king bed, in-room coffee, refrigerator, safe, television, telephone, and full bath.
There's no air-conditioning in all guest rooms. They use evaporative coolers.
Rooms designed for guests with physical disabilities are available.
These lodges offer easy walking access to the dining facilities at either El Tovar or Bright Angel Lodge.
Guests staying at the Kachina Lodge check in at El Tovar and Thunderbird Lodge guests check in at Bright Angel Lodge. Rooms with Canyon views cannot be guaranteed.

All Rooms are non-smoking standard motel-style rooms. The building is located along the rim of the Grand Canyon within walking distance of the El Tovar Hotel, where Kachina guests check in. These Motel rooms have 1 King bed or 2 queen beds, full bath, hair dryers, TV, in-room coffee maker, refrigerator, CD player/clock radio/alarms, in-room safes, iron & ironing boards, telephone, data port connection and evaporative cooling (NOT A/C). No Canyon Views. Sleeps up to 3 people, adults or children . Rollaway or Crib OK (Rollaway or Crib may be required for 3rd person). Pets and/or cooking are not allowed in the room. Rooms have interior entrances. |
